- ItemEstimation of the plasma-effect-site equilibration rate constant (k(e0)) of rocuronium by the time of maximum effect: a comparison with non-parametric and parametric approaches(ELSEVIER SCI LTD, 2007) Cortinez, L. I.; Nazar, C.; Munoz, H. R.Background. The first order plasma-effect-site equilibration rate constant (k(e0)) links the pharmacokinetics (PK) and pharmacodynamics (PD) of a given drug. For the calculation of the k(e0), one method uses a single point of the response curve corresponding to the time to peak effect of a drug (t(peak)); however, it has not been validated. This study compares the k(e0) calculated with the method of tpeak and the k(e0) calculated with traditional non-parametric and parametric methods.
- ItemEvaluation of the effect of intravenous lidocaine on propofol requirements during total intravenous anaesthesia as measured by bispectral index(dagger)(OXFORD UNIV PRESS, 2012) Altermatt, F. R.; Bugedo, D. A.; Delfino, A. E.; Solari, S.; Guerra, I.; Munoz, H. R.; Cortinez, L. I.I.V. lidocaine is increasingly used as an adjuvant during general anaesthesia. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of i.v. lidocaine in reducing propofol anaesthetic requirements during total i.v. anaesthesia (TIVA) maintenance and to evaluate its effect on early recovery from anaesthesia.
- ItemInfluence of obesity on propofol pharmacokinetics: derivation of a pharmacokinetic model(ELSEVIER SCI LTD, 2010) Cortinez, L. I.; Anderson, B. J.; Penna, A.; Olivares, L.; Munoz, H. R.; Holford, N. H. G.; Struys, M. M. R. F.; Sepulveda, P.The objective of this study was to develop a pharmacokinetic (PK) model to characterize the influence of obesity on propofol PK parameters.
- ItemNitrous oxide (N2O) reduces postoperative opioid-induced hyperalgesia after remifentanil-propofol anaesthesia in humans(OXFORD UNIV PRESS, 2011) Echevarria, G.; Elgueta, F.; Fierro, C.; Bugedo, D.; Faba, G.; Iniguez Cuadra, R.; Munoz, H. R.; Cortinez, L. I.Background. The aim of this study was to test if intraoperative administration of N2O during propofol-remifentanil anaesthesia prevented the onset of postoperative opioid-induced hyperalgesia(OIH).
- ItemPredictive ability of propofol effect-site concentrations during fast and slow infusion rates(WILEY, 2010) Sepulveda, P. O.; Cortinez, L. I.; Recart, A.; Munoz, H. R.Background
- ItemPropofol consumption and recovery times after bispectral index or cerebral state index guidance of anaesthesia(ELSEVIER SCI LTD, 2009) Delfino, A. E.; Cortinez, L. I.; Fierro, C. V.; Munoz, H. R.We compared the propofol requirements and recovery times when either the bispectral index (BIS) monitor or the cerebral state monitor (CSM) is used to guide propofol anaesthesia.
