dc.description.abstractThis article states that Chilean periodic publications associated to the architecture and urbanism production represented, from 1930 to 1960, Santiago's natural space transformations or its non-urbanised territory by means of the dissemination of landscape projects. Based on that statement, what it is pursued is to modify the generalised conception for the period, sometimes unambiguous, of the idea of landscape as sublimation of geography.
dc.description.abstractEven though these publications rarely use the term landscape literally, an important part of the ideas spread between the years 1930 and 1960 were oriented to the necessary transformation of natural space by means of the conception and spatial materialization of programmatic structures and formally organised from the likely relationships between natural systems and urbanisation processes. These landscape projects confirm the natural space was, particularly in Santiago, project subject matter on a scale range which approached from the organisation of open spaces for single family houses to plans on a territorial scale.
